Prof. Adrian J. Forca, Dean of the College of Science and Technology (CST), was invited to attend the Regional ICT Summit and Exhibition as a delegate from the academic sector, along with Mr. Nico G. Amarilla (ICT Unit Head).
The activity, which was organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), aims to foster rural development by strengthening collaboration among local stakeholders such as the government, academics, and industry sector, which is essential to building a diverse and inclusive digital ecosystem nationwide.
The academic sector’s primary role is to produce competitive talents that the industry needs. Furthermore, the Resilient, Inclusive, and Sustainable Economy (RISE) provided updates for industry updates, such as the guide called the Philippine Skills Framework.
The program comprises two sessions. In the morning, participants engaged in plenary sessions, while in the afternoon, it featured simultaneous high-level roundtable discussions on IT-BPM and local community digital job readiness. These discussions will focus on two key areas: talent and the business environment.
