CST Conducts Community Extension Services to Daragan Elementary School, emphasizing the use of the Canva Platform in Collaboration with Nexus Media

In line with the university’s mandate for community extension services, the College of Science and Technology (CST) conducted community extension services to Daragan Elementary School, working in partnership with Nexus Media, the official student media of the CST.

The CST Community Extension Services team, which included Mr. John Paul M. Garcia from the Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU), a part-time faculty member from CST, and Mr. Louel Sanz, a CST Laboratory Technician, served as resource persons in conducting the aforementioned program. Additionally, Prof. Adrian J. Forca, Dean of the CST, provides necessary support during the training. Moreover, Nexus Media collaboratively assisted in the conduct of the activity. They are CST students taking up a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), which is composed of Ms. Ma. Lea Gatungay, Nexus Media Editor-in-Chief; Ms. Kate Lorite, Nexus Media Associate Editor; Mr. John Michael Zaldivar, Nexus Media Photojournalist; and Ms. Jessa Marie Cabille, Nexus Media Newscaster.

The participants have expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the CST faculty, staff, and students, who have provided a comprehensive session that has led to a more innovative approach to preparing their respective programs, certificates, and other contemporary documents, making the process easy, enjoyable, and fun. Mrs. Marsha Berug, School Head of Daragan Elementary School, expressed gratitude to the college and the university as a whole and was hopeful for receiving more relevant training relative to ICT, such as Google Workspace for Education and Education Technologies.
