CST conducts Collaborative Community Extension Services with UNPAK FMIPA to Jumpstart Java Course for ICT Teachers in Guimaras, Philippines

The GSU-College of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Universitas Pakuan’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (UNPAK FMIPA) from Indonesia, successfully conducted a five-day Community Extension Services program aimed at ICT teachers in Guimaras, Philippines.

The short course focused on Java Programming Fundamentals, covering topics ranging from the Basics of Library, Data Types, and Variable Declaration to Decision Statements, Operators, Looping Statements, and Arrays. The course provided a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on sessions, with guidance from experts in the field. The following speakers contributed their expertise:

– Prof. Adrian J. Forca – GSU, Philippines
– Mr. Gustian Rama Putra, MMSI. – UNPAK, Indonesia
– Ms. Dinar Muggaran Akhmad, M.Kom – UNPAK. Indonesia
– Mr. Muhammad Ghifari – UNPAK, Indonesia

Held from November 18 to 22, 2024, the program yielded positive results, as the participants, who are ICT teachers from various schools in Guimaras, showed significant improvement in both knowledge and skills.

The assessment was conducted twice through Pre-Test and Post-Test.
