The College of Science and Technology (CST) took a significant step in strengthening its collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) through a strategic meeting aimed at enhancing student opportunities and advancing institutional initiatives. The meeting was attended by CST representatives, including College Dean Adrian J. Forca, BSIS Program Head Loveson C. Gallos, and Research Coordinator James Ryan B. Ga, alongside DICT Provincial Officer Elry S. Hortillosa and PDO 1 Project Focal ILCDB Bryan Ga.

Discussions centered on key areas of partnership, including the provision of free Wi-Fi access from DICT to enhance digital connectivity within CST, internship (OJT) opportunities for students to gain industry exposure, and research and extension collaborations between the two institutions. Additionally, both parties explored the implementation of various workshops and training programs, such as cybersecurity awareness, digital literacy, and ICT skills development for students and faculty.

This collaboration reflects CST’s commitment to providing students with real-world learning experiences and access to emerging technologies, ensuring their preparedness for the evolving digital landscape. Through this partnership, CST and DICT aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, fostering a more dynamic and technology-driven educational environment.
