October 1, 2025 | GSU Mosqueda Campus Conference Hall

As part of the Teacher’s Day celebration, Guimaras State University (GSU) Mosqueda Campus, organized by Campus Ministry Coordinator, Prof. Antonieta Espin, held a meaningful program at the campus conference hall that focused on the well-being, relationships, and spiritual renewal of its faculty and staff.

The seminar featured three distinguished speakers who each shared valuable insights.

Dr. Florentino P. Alerta II, Training Officer and Consultant at Iloilo Mission Hospital, opened the session with a talk on dealing with stress and mental health, highlighting the importance of a healthy mindset and reminding everyone that “what we think shapes who we are.”

Hon. Sanie D. Ong, Member of the GSU Board of Regents, followed with an engaging talk on relational dysfunctions and common relational issues, offering practical ways to strengthen connections. He introduced an activity using four colored notes: pink for apology, orange for appreciation, green for building deeper connections, and yellow for gratitude. Participants were encouraged to share these notes with colleagues, creating a warm and interactive moment that deepened bonds within the academic community.

To close the program, Pastor Jhun Cusa, Senior Pastor at Victory Jordan, delivered a recap of the discussions and led a heartfelt prayer for the faculty and staff, reminding them of the value of faith, unity, and encouragement.

Beyond the fun and festivities, the event aimed to foster stronger relationships among Mosquedians and build lasting bonds with one another, making the celebration not just an occasion of appreciation but also of connection and unity, adding depth and meaning to the Teacher’s Day Celebration.

To make the day even more special, faculty and staff were also able to bring home simple gifts through a fun raffle shared by one of the speakers, giving smiles and adding warmth to an already memorable gathering.
