The College of Science and Technology (CST) conducted the Special Topics in IT: Digital Innovation Seminar on October 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM held at the GSU Mosqueda Campus Conference Hall. The event was actively participated in by all 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students as part of their course requirement in Special Topics.






The seminar served as a platform for students to gain valuable insights into the latest technological advancements and innovations shaping the IT industry today.



To achieve this, the college invited distinguished speakers from both the academe and the professional field who shared their expertise and experiences in the industry.



The first speaker, Instr. Chrysha Lou O. Manajero, a faculty member of the College of Science and Technology, discussed Mobile Applications Development. Her session covered the current trends in mobile technology, the process of app creation, and the essential tools and techniques used in developing functional and user-centered applications.





Following her was Mr. Ryan Chris Ariego, Co-founder of Web3 Iloilo, together with the Founder of Web3 Iloilo, who introduced the topic Zero-to-Blockchain. Their talk explored the fundamentals of blockchain technology, its wide-ranging applications, and its transformative role across different industries. The discussion encouraged students to venture into the growing digital ecosystem driven by blockchain innovation.





The final speaker, Mr. Cyril Seberiaga, Software Engineer and Computer Programmer III at DSWD Region 6, shared his expertise on Software Development. He emphasized the importance of effective communication in software engineering, noting that “A good software or web developer is someone who can communicate well. Keep learning to be on top of AI.” His message inspired students to continuously develop their technical and software skills to stay relevant in the fast-changing world of technology.






After the series of talks, an open forum was held to give participants the opportunity to raise questions, seek clarifications, and engage directly with the speakers. The interactive session allowed students to deepen their understanding of the discussed topics and gain practical insights from real-world experiences.


Overall, the Digital Innovation Seminar provided an enriching and inspiring learning experience for the participants.
