In recognition of the continuing challenges affecting students’ mental well-being, Guimaras State University has announced a Mental Health Break for all students across its three campuses from October 30 to November 2, 2025.

The declaration, issued through Memorandum No. 083, Series of 2025 by Dr. Erlyn M. Martir, Vice President for Academic Affairs, aligns with the observance of October as Mental Health Awareness Month. The initiative aims to provide students with an opportunity to rest, reflect, and reconnect with themselves, their families, and their faith.

The break also coincides with the national celebration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, serving as a period for emotional balance and healing. During these dates, all classes and academic activities will be suspended to give way for the mental wellness of the student body.

However, faculty members are still required to report to their respective offices and perform regular duties, ensuring that university operations and essential services remain uninterrupted.

GSU emphasizes that this initiative is part of its continued commitment to promoting mental health awareness and fostering a supportive academic environment for all students.
