Visit to GSU Start-up Program, Economic Development Center, and Alumni Reunion

October 29, 2025 | Guimaras State University

The third day of the Student and Faculty Exchange Program between Universitas Pakuan (UNPAK) and Guimaras State University (GSU) highlighted the university’s commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic collaboration.

The day began with a visit to the Start-up Program of GSU, where the UNPAK delegation witnessed the Young Farmers’ Market, a regular initiative held every Wednesday. The event showcased the entrepreneurial efforts of students engaged in vegetable and fruit production, allowing them to market their products within the GSU community. This visit provided the guests with insights into the university’s approach to agri-entrepreneurship and student-led innovation.

The team then proceeded to the Economic Development Center, where Mr. Philippe R. Prologo presented the best practices of GSU in income generation. He discussed how the university sustains its operations and supports its programs through various production and enterprise ventures, emphasizing the institution’s model of integrating economic development into education.

The day concluded with a reunion between GSU’s College of Science and Technology (CST) and UNPAK’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) alumni — student participants from Batch 1 and Batch 2 Student Exchange Program. The gathering served as a venue for students to reconnect with their former lecturers from UNPAK, share experiences, and strengthen academic and cultural ties built through the exchange program.

This day underscored the value of entrepreneurial learning, institutional sustainability, and international academic relationships, further deepening the collaboration between GSU and UNPAK.
