The Dean of the College of Science and Technology (CST) gathered first-year CST students for an important meeting on February 2, 2026, at the GSU Conference Hall. The meeting aimed to guide students on academic expectations, enrollment procedures, student conduct, and other important concerns as they begin their journey in college.


The discussion began with matters concerning grades and academic performance. Emphasizing dedication and perseverance, he encouraged students to always give their best effort, reminding them that academic success is achieved through hard work and discipline. He also discussed the increasing number of completion forms received by the office and explained the consequences of INC and DROP marks based on the university’s retention policy.
In terms of enrollment procedures, the Dean clarified the process and addressed students’ concerns regarding the rush in the issuance of their Registration Forms (RFs), ensuring that they understood the proper steps for future enrollment periods.
The Dean also highlighted the importance of proper behavior and attitude within the campus. He encouraged students to practice basic etiquette such as greeting faculty, staff, and campus personnel, knocking before entering offices, wearing proper uniforms, maintaining good grooming standards, and observing laboratory rules. Additionally, he advised students to use artificial intelligence tools responsibly and avoid relying on them when writing academic essays.
He also encouraged students to visit the CST office whenever they encounter academic or personal concerns that may affect their studies.
The meeting also included a discussion on the proposed CST Week, followed by an open forum where the Dean addressed questions from students, including concerns from shifters and newly enrolled learners.
The gathering served as a meaningful opportunity to orient first-year students, strengthen communication between the administration and learners, and reinforce the college’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and holistic development.
