GSU Joins PAEPI 2025 in Siargao: Advancing Inclusive Extension Programs

June 10-13, 2025 | Siargao, Surigao del Norte

The Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementers, Inc. (PAEPI) conducted its 2025 International Extension Conference last June 10-13, 2025, in the island of Siargao, Surigao del Norte. Themed “Enhancing Science and Technology-Driven Extension Platforms for Sustainable and Inclusive Communities,” the convention gathered extension implementers, extensionists, and educators from various higher education institutions (HEIs) across the country to exchange best practices and effective community programs.

The event aimed to promote the continuous improvement of extension services in the Philippines by providing a venue for collaboration, paper presentations, and policy discussions relevant to extension work.

As one of the delegates from Guimaras State University, Dr. Reiner Jun G. Alminaza, CST Extension Coordinator, actively participated in the conference’s sessions and activities. Dr. Alminaza had the opportunity to present the extension paper titled “Empowering High School Teachers with Computer Systems and Networking through Skills-Training in the Case of Supang National High School” during the parallel sessions under the track Education and Development Studies.

The PAEPI 2025 International Extension Conference was a meaningful academic and professional engagement that underscored the importance of responsive and inclusive community extension programs, particularly in marginalized and vulnerable sectors. It reaffirmed the role of HEIs in nation-building beyond instruction and research.
