Guimaras State University (GSU) successfully conducted a mock accreditation at the College of Science and Technology (CST) as part of its preparation for the upcoming accreditation visit by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). The activity focused on assessing the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) programs.

The mock accreditation aimed to evaluate the strengths and areas for improvement of CST’s academic programs through a detailed review of its documents, facilities, and instructional processes, ensuring that all requirements for the BSIS and BSCS programs were adequately addressed and aligned with accreditation standards. It served as a trial evaluation to ensure the readiness of the college in meeting accreditation standards.

During the exercise, designated panels reviewed documents on faculty’s academic qualifications, community extension programs, student services, support facilities, and more. Constructive feedback was provided to program heads and faculty members, helping them identify gaps and strengthen compliance with the criteria set by AACCUP.
The successful conduct of the mock accreditation marks a significant step toward CST’s readiness for the upcoming AACCUP evaluation. With the collective effort of administrators, faculty, staff, and students, CST remains steadfast in its pursuit of academic excellence and quality assurance.
