MS Excel and Google Workspace Training Empowers Child Development Workers of Buenavista

To enhance their digital competency and workplace efficiency, 45 Child Development Workers from Buenavista, Guimaras participated in the Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace Training held at the iLAB, GSU Salvador Campus, on October 15–16, 2025.

The two-day training was facilitated by Dr. Reiner Jun Alminaza, CST Extension Coordinator, together with Dr. Simeon G. Cainday III, iLab Coordinator, and Dr. Lea P. Ymalay, Program Head of BS Computer Science, who served as the resource speaker. The session aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Excel for data management and Google Workspace tools for online collaboration and documentation, skills essential in streamlining their daily tasks and reporting processes.

Through hands-on exercises and guided demonstrations, participants learned how to create and organize spreadsheets, manage data effectively, and use Google applications for communication and record-keeping. The training emphasized the importance of digital literacy in promoting efficient, transparent, and technology-driven service delivery within their respective child development centers.

This initiative served as a platform for Child Development Workers to maximize the use of technology tools and software in performing their duties, reflecting the university’s continuous commitment to community development through digital empowerment and lifelong learning opportunities.
