The Guimaras State University (GSU) and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) conducted an initial coordination meeting for the university’s first Collaboration Online International Learning (COIL) Program via Zoom on January 20, 2026.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the COIL program for the Second Semester, which will involve second-year Computer Science students. Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to learn in an international virtual classroom alongside Indonesian instructors and classmates, fostering cross-cultural exchange and global academic collaboration.
Representing the College of Science and Technology (CST) were Prof. Adrian J. Forca, CST Dean, and Prof. Reiner Jun C. Alminaza, who actively participated in the discussion and coordination with the partner institution. The meeting covered initial plans, course integration, and collaborative teaching approaches to ensure a meaningful and enriching learning experience for the students.
This milestone marks a significant step for GSU in expanding its international academic partnerships and embracing innovative learning modalities. The COIL program is expected to enhance students’ global competencies, intercultural awareness, and academic perspectives through collaborative online learning.
