In celebration of Heart’s Day, Guimaras State University – College of Science and Technology (GSU – CST) organized a meaningful tree-planting event, “Tanom sang Pagpalangga,” at the GSU Octagon. This initiative was led by CST College Dean Adrian J. Forca and Campus Director Kert D. Pillora, along with various program heads, faculty members, staff, and students.

The event aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainability, emphasizing that Valentine’s Day is not only about expressing love for people but also about showing care for nature. By planting trees, the GSU community demonstrated its commitment to nurturing the environment for future generations.
Maintenance and utility staff played a crucial role by assisting in digging and planting various fruit-bearing trees, including jackfruit, chestnut, and santol.
“Tanom sang Pagpalangga” successfully blended the spirit of Valentine’s Day with environmental stewardship, inspiring participants to cultivate a culture of sustainability and love for nature.
