Guimaras State University – Mosqueda Campus took a powerful stand against violence and oppression by hosting One Billion Rising 2025 – Rise for Freedom, a global movement dedicated to ending injustices in all their forms. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and employees, reinforcing the university’s commitment to advocacy, awareness, and solidarity.



The program featured compelling speeches from Instructor Loveson C. Gallos, Dr. Kert D. Pillora, and Dr. Lea P. Ymalay, who featured the importance of educating the community on these critical issues. Their words resonated with attendees, inspiring unity and collective action.





Participants engaged in interactive activities, including trivia games and the symbolic One Billion Rising dance, led by Physical Education (PE) students. These activities provided an immersive and impactful way to deepen understanding of the realities of the issues.
This effort highlighted the campus community’s dedication to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all, advocating for change, and empowering each other to rise above violence and oppression.
