Home Visitation and Consultation Conducted for Students at Risk of Dropping

March 3. 2025 | Nueva Valencia, Guimaras

In an effort to provide timely academic support and strengthen student retention, the university conducted a Home Visitation and Consultation Program for students identified as candidates for dropping due to excessive absences and unresolved academic concerns.

The initiative, led by the College Dean, Program Heads, and faculty aimed to directly reach out to learners who have shown prolonged non-attendance or have been flagged for possible dropout from their subjects. The visits allowed faculty members to personally assess the students’ situations, understand the root causes of their absences, and offer guidance on possible interventions to help them continue their studies.

During the consultations, parents or guardians were also engaged to ensure that they were informed of the student’s academic standing and the consequences of continued non-compliance with attendance and course requirements. Faculty members emphasized the importance of returning to class, completing missed tasks, and communicating with instructors for necessary academic adjustments.

The home visitation program serves as a reminder that the university remains committed to supporting every student’s educational journey. By reaching out beyond the classroom, the institution aims to address barriers to learning, promote student well-being, and prevent potential dropouts through early intervention and strengthened communication.
