In line with the 2025 Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, an Orientation and Planning Activity was conducted on March 12, 2025, at Salvador Campus in collaboration with Capiz State University DRRMO. The activity aimed to ensure the proper execution of earthquake drills within the university.
Representing the College of Science and Technology (CST) were Lea P. Ymalay, BSCS Program Head and SAS Coordinator; Gio Albert A. Montaño, COS Faculty; and seven CST students. The event brought together various sectors of the university, including campus organization leaders, class mayors, security personnel, evacuation teams, rescuers, building inspectors, supply officers, human resource officers, budget officers, cashiers, clinic staff, the GSU volunteer group, and General Services Office (GSO) personnel.
The orientation provided essential guidelines on earthquake preparedness, response strategies, and the roles of different units during emergencies. The planning session focused on refining evacuation procedures, strengthening coordination among teams, and ensuring readiness for future drills.
By actively participating in this initiative, CST reaffirms its commitment to disaster preparedness and safety, aligning with the university’s goal of fostering a well-prepared and resilient academic community.
