The Board of Regents (BOR) has officially approved the revised curricula for three major computing programs under the College of Science and Technology (CST) at Guimaras State University (GSU), Mosqueda Campus. The updates apply to the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS), and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) programs and will take effect in the first semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.
The curricular revisions were approved through BOR Resolution No. 110-2024, passed on November 6, 2024. The changes are designed to align academic content with current industry standards, technological advancements, and national higher education policies. Key updates aim to enhance students’ technical proficiency, critical thinking, and adaptability to the fast-paced developments in the fields of computing and information technology.
The initiative shows the university’s continuous effort to update its academic offerings in response to labor market trends and global shifts in IT practice. It also reinforces the institution’s commitment to developing competent, job-ready graduates equipped with relevant and future-facing competencies.
