In a bid to enhance real-world learning opportunities, the College of Science and Technology (CST) of Guimaras State University (GSU) deployed five fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students for their On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) office in Jordan, Guimaras on April 7, 2025.



The deployment was overseen by Divon G. Tamdang, Program Head of BSIT, and Loveson C. Gallos, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS). The two faculty members also played a key role in facilitating the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between GSU and DENR, formalizing the collaboration and ensuring a structured internship experience for the students.
During the visit, the students were officially introduced to Forester Louie L. Laud, Officer-In-Charge of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO). The meeting marked the beginning of the students’ training period, where they will engage in various activities related to data management and ICT applications in government operations, furthering their practical experience in real-world scenarios.
