To promote financial literacy among the youth, Bank of the Philippines Islands hosted FinTalk: Learn More and Do More with Your Finances on April 22, 2025, at the Conference Hall of GSU Mosqueda Campus. The event was attended by students, faculty, and staff from the College of Science and Technology (CST), and featured informative sessions delivered by representatives from the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI).

During the talk, BPI speakers emphasized the importance of developing smart financial habits early on. They encouraged attendees to “Break the habit and build the plan,” focusing on four core principles: Set goals, save first, spend last, and invest early and wisely. These messages were aimed at guiding students toward a more secure financial future and instilling discipline in money management.
The event served as an eye-opener for many students, especially those preparing to enter the workforce or manage their personal finances more responsibly. By partnering with financial institutions like BPI, GSU continues to provide relevant and practical learning experiences beyond the classroom.
The success of FinTalk underscores the importance of financial education in today’s fast-paced world, and CST looks forward to holding more initiatives that help students thrive both academically and financially.
