Demonstrating their commitment to academic advancement and innovation, researchers from the College of Science and Technology (CST) of Guimaras State University (GSU) participated in the International Research Colloquium held on April 25, 2025, at the Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.

Two research studies were presented during the event, aiming to gain valuable insights to further enhance their projects through expert evaluation and academic discourse.




Fritz Noel Quilacio and Asher Paul Cuadra presented their study titled “Comparison of Machine Learning Algorithms for Phishing Detection of Uniform Resource Locations” under the AI, Machine Learning, and IoT Track. Their research was evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts: Dr. Sammy V. Militante, Dr. Jan Carlo Arroyo, and Dr. Julie Ann Salido.




Meanwhile, Maria Lea Gatungay and Kate Lorite showcased their project “PetVax: A Mobile Application for Addressing Rabies Cases” under the Web and Mobile Application Track. Their presentation was assessed by Dr. Regin Cabacas, Prof. Rhea Balontong, and Dr. Joel Garcera.
Through the colloquium, GSU-CST researchers not only gained critical feedback from seasoned evaluators but also strengthened their research competencies, contributing to the advancement of technology-driven solutions in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and public health.
