GSU-CST Hosts Ubiquity 2025: 1st Student Research Colloquium

The College of Science and Technology (CST) of Guimaras State University (GSU) successfully launched its 1st Student Research Colloquium, “Ubiquity 2025,” on May 21, 2025, at the Conference Hall, Mosqueda Campus. The event aimed to introduce 4th year students to the world of research and capstone development through academic presentation and engagement.

It featured Dr. Garry Vanz Blancia, Research Director of Romblon State University, as the keynote speaker. He delivered an insightful talk on “Recent Trends in Research and the Globalized Era,” highlighting the importance of innovation, collaboration, and relevance in today’s research landscape.

Invited speakers included Marnie Lester Jornadal, recipient of the Best Paper Award during the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research and Innovations 2024 held in WMSU, Zamboanga City; Frenz Rian Gal, Director of the Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO) of GSU; and Daisy Ibieza, Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO) Manager and CESO Assistant Director. Each shared their expertise and insights on research, innovation, and intellectual property rights.

Throughout the program, 4th year CST students presented their capstone and research studies and were interviewed regarding the objectives, methodologies, and outcomes of their work. The session provided valuable feedback and exposure to research presentation standards, preparing them for future academic and professional undertakings.

Ubiquity 2025 showcased the college’s commitment to fostering a strong research culture, encouraging students to contribute meaningfully to academic and industry advancements.
