GSU CST Conducts Community Extension Service on Data Privacy Act at Supang NHS

On August 8, 2025, the Guimaras State University – College of Science and Technology (GSU – CST) conducted a Community Extension Service at Supang National High School, focusing on Republic Act No. 10173, or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

The symposium aimed to educate students on the importance of protecting personal information and understanding their rights and responsibilities under the law. Instr. Mismo Querobin, serving as the resource speaker, discussed the key provisions of RA 10173, highlighted common risks to data privacy, and provided practical tips on safeguarding personal data, both online and offline.

The activity was attended by Grade 10 and Grade 12 students as well as members of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG). Also present were the school head of Supang NHS and the Grade 10 advisers, who expressed their appreciation to GSU CST for extending valuable learning beyond the classroom.

Through this initiative, GSU CST reinforced its commitment to community engagement by empowering learners with knowledge on data privacy, which is an essential skill in today’s digital world.
