GSU Representatives Experience Bali’s Iconic Kecak Dance Through Cultural Immersion

August 11, 2025 | Bali, Indonesia

Delegates from Guimaras State University (GSU) had the privilege to witness the world-renowned Kecak Dance performance, a captivating Balinese cultural presentation, as part of their ongoing Cultural Immersion Program.

The experience was made possible through the gracious invitation of ITB STIKOM Bali, which has been hosting the GSU delegation during their visit. The performance took place in one of Bali’s iconic cultural venues, where delegates were immersed in the rhythmic chanting, intricate choreography, and dramatic storytelling that define the traditional Kecak Dance, a theatrical rendition of the Ramayana epic, accompanied by a chorus of male dancers chanting “cak” in unison.

This cultural showcase forms part of GSU’s broader mission to foster global awareness and appreciation for the arts, enabling delegates to gain deeper insights into the traditions and heritage of their host country. Through opportunities like this, GSU strengthens its international academic ties while cultivating cultural literacy among its students and faculty.
