GSU Welcomes Dong Thap University Representative through a Courtesy Call

On September 1, 2025, Guimaras State University (GSU) Salvador Campus formally welcomed Ms. Mai Thi Thao from its partner institution, Dong Thap University (DTHU), Vietnam, through a courtesy call and meeting that highlighted the strengthening of international academic collaboration.

Present during the meeting were GSU President, Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreno, College of Science and Technology (CST) Dean, Prof. Adrian J. Forca, along with other College Deans and university key officials. The gathering provided an avenue to extend GSU’s warm hospitality while promoting discussions on future joint initiatives.

During the meeting, CST expressed its intention to send students and faculty members to DThU next year as part of its internationalization efforts, aiming to broaden academic opportunities and cultural exchange for the GSU community.

In a symbolic gesture of gratitude and partnership, Ms. Thao presented signature shawls of Dong Thap University to the university president, the CST dean, and all key officials present. The tokens represented DThU’s appreciation for the continuing collaboration with GSU.

Adding to the significance of her visit, Ms. Thao will be staying at GSU until Saturday, allowing more opportunities for engagement and deeper discussions with the university’s officials, faculty, and students.

Dr. Parreño emphasized that the partnership with DThU is a significant step in realizing GSU’s vision of producing globally competitive graduates. The meeting concluded with both institutions expressing optimism for more fruitful collaborations in the coming years.
