CST Extension Coordinator Joins 14th PEARS Regional Symposium and General Assembly

The College of Science and Technology (CST) Extension Coordinator, Dr. Reiner Jun Alminaza, represented Guimaras State University (GSU) in the 14th PEARS (PASUC-VI EMC Annual Regional Symposium and General Assembly) held at the University of Antique, Sibalom, Antique, from September 30 to October 2, 2025.

With the theme “Extension Beyond Boundaries: Strengthening Impact through Innovation, Inclusion, and Integration,” the event gathered extension directors and coordinators from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) across Region VI, including representatives from GSU. The annual symposium was organized by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges VI Extension Managers Council Incorporated (PASUC-VI EMC).

The three-day event served as a platform for SUCs to showcase their extension initiatives, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration among institutions toward sustainable community development. Participants engaged in presentations and discussions covering diverse fields of study under five major clusters:

Cluster 1: Agri-Fishery, Food, and Environment
Cluster 2: Community-Based Health, Nutrition, and Wellness
Cluster 3: Transformative Education, Culture, and Social-Behavioral Sciences
Cluster 4: Engineering Innovations, Digital Transformation, and Data Analytics
Cluster 5: Environmental Stewardship, Climate Action, and Circular Economy

Dr. Alminaza also proudly participated in the Video Documentary Category, representing GSU-CST’s ongoing efforts in innovative and community-centered extension programs.

Through the 14th PEARS Symposium, the CST Extension Coordinator and other participants reaffirmed their commitment to advancing meaningful, inclusive, and innovative extension services that go beyond institutional boundaries and empowering communities.
