CST Emerges as Champion in GSUSR Valentine’s Film Making Contest

The College of Science and Technology (CST) brought pride and honor to the college after emerging as Champion in the Valentine’s Film Making Contest held on February 11, 2026, at the Guimaras State University – Salvador Campus.

The competition was part of the university’s Month of Love celebration and carried the theme “GSU Premiere: Melodies that Weave Stories of Love and Unity.” The event featured entries from six different colleges, each presenting creative and heartfelt cinematic interpretations of the theme.

Represented by The Nexus Media, CST’s official student media organization, the college’s entry titled “When Our Song Finds Us” captivated the judges and audience, earning the Champion title.

In addition to that, the team also garnered four major special awards, namely:

🏆 Best Cinematography
🏆 Best Music Design
🏆 Best Teaser

These recognitions highlighted the team’s excellence in acting, visual storytelling, technical execution, and creative promotion.

Through strong collaboration, artistic vision, and dedication, the student media delivered a compelling and emotionally resonant film that reflected the spirit of love and unity. Their achievement showcased not only their filmmaking skills but also the growing strength of CST in multimedia production and digital arts.

As a testament to their outstanding accomplishment, the winning team, together with their Student Media Adviser, Instr. Beverly Garmay, was formally recognized by the GSU Mosqueda Campus Director, Dr. Kert D. Pillora, during the flag-raising ceremony on February 16, 2026. The recognition celebrated their success and acknowledged their contribution in bringing honor and distinction to the college and the campus.

The victory stands as a powerful reflection of the creativity, teamwork, and passion of CST students, further strengthening the college’s reputation in campus-wide competitions and in the field of media and technology.
