Strengthening global institutional ties and cross-border innovation, Guimaras State University (GSU) faculty members Assoc. Prof. Adrian J. Forca and Instr. James Ryan B. Ga completed a multi-faceted Academic and Research Collaboration at the Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) STIKOM Bali, Indonesia, held from September 27 to October 5, 2026.
On September 28, 2026, Prof. Adrian J. Forca, alongside Instr. James Ryan B. Ga, student delegates, and collaborators from ITB STIKOM Bali, extended the FarmGraph Research Platform to durian farmers in Singaraja, Bali, Indonesia. The field deployment demonstrated how FarmGraph simplifies agricultural record-keeping and provides tree-level production analytics tailored for high-value crops like durian. Singaraja farmers warmly received the initiative, expressing keen interest in long-term adoption to optimize their yield tracking. Recognizing the practical value of the platform, both ITB STIKOM Bali and the local farming community officially invited the GSU team to return in March 2027, coinciding with the peak durian harvest season to conduct full-scale onboarding and assist farmers in logging tree-level yield data on the live system.
On October 2, 2026, Instr. James Ryan B. Ga delivered a high-impact general lecture titled “Empowering Research through AI” to an audience of over 200 first-year ITB STIKOM Bali students, exploring how modern artificial intelligence tools and data analytics can elevate academic research. Fostering mutual appreciation, Instr. Ga also led a vibrant performance showcasing Traditional Philippine Dances for the Balinese audience.
Furthermore, demonstrating academic leadership, Instr. Ga served as an External Panel Member for the undergraduate thesis paper hearing defenses of Bachelor of Science in Information Systems students, providing technical insights and constructive critiques to refine their research.
The successful mobility program at ITB STIKOM Bali reinforces Guimaras State University’s commitment to internationalization, sustainable agricultural technology transfer, and collaborative academic leadership.
