GSU Mosqueda Campus Welcomes New Academic Year with ASEAN Week Celebration

August 24, 2026 | GSU Mosqueda Campus

The GSU Mosqueda Campus warmly welcomed students, faculty, and staff as the new Academic Year officially began on August 24, 2026, marking the first day of classes with a celebration of unity and cultural diversity through the ASEAN Week Celebration.

Following the flag ceremony, the campus joined in singing the ASEAN Hymn, setting the tone for the celebration carrying the theme “Navigating Our Future Together.” The activity highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation, and appreciation of the diverse cultures that make up the ASEAN countries.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the presentation of the Mr. and Ms. ASEAN 2026 candidates representing the two colleges at the GSU Mosqueda Campus.

Representing the College of Business and Management (CBM) were Instr. Kevin F. Suganog and Instr. Shaira Mie Severino, while the College of Science and Technology (CST) was represented by Instr. Marnie Lester Jornadal and Instr. Jerlyn Decena.

Adding color and vibrancy to the celebration was the ASEAN Heritage Display, where GSU Mosqueda faculty and staff showcased traditional and cultural-inspired attire in a special runway presentation. The activity provided a visual celebration of the rich heritage and cultural diversity of the ASEAN countries.

The celebration served as a meaningful way to welcome the GSU Mosqueda community back to campus and officially begin another academic year. More than a ceremonial start to classes, the activity fostered a spirit of unity, cultural appreciation, and shared aspirations among students, faculty, and staff.

As GSU Mosqueda Campus embarks on Academic Year 2026–2027, the celebration sets a positive and vibrant tone for what promises to be a fruitful, meaningful, and successful Academic Year.
