Two female students from the College of Science and Technology (CST) represented Guimaras State University (GSU) at CodHER: Building One’s Path, One Young Woman at a Time – Female Students in Technology Edition on March 29, 2025, at the NEDA Regional Office VI, Fort San Pedro Drive, Iloilo City. They were accompanied by Loveson C. Gallos, MIT, and Mary Llourane Faith Jornadal, Web Administrator.

The event aimed to empower women in the IT industry, fostering their confidence and technical skills. Mary Grace M. Balogo and Salvi Joyce V. Estember, both from BSIT 3A, participated in the workshops focused on Figma for UI/UX design and Firebase for backend development. Through hands-on training and interactive sessions, CodHER provided an avenue for female students to explore essential tools and technologies in IT, further encouraging gender diversity and inclusion in the field. GSU-CST’s participation underscores its commitment to supporting and uplifting women in technology.
