GSU-CST Inaugurates PTA Project: Water Refilling Station

April 11, 2025 | Guimaras State University – Mosqueda Campus

As part of its continued efforts to support student welfare through stakeholder collaboration, the College of Science and Technology (CST) of Guimaras State University (GSU) formally inaugurated its Water Refilling Station project on April 11, 2025, through a ribbon cutting ceremony held at the Mosqueda Campus.

The initiative, a product of the CST Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), was led by Assoc. Prof. Adrian J. Forca, CST Dean, with active participation from PTA officers: President Monina Silvestre, Vice President Jonalyn Galleto, and Treasurer Elsa Gamuza. The ceremony also gathered CST faculty, staff, and parent representatives.

The project aims to ensure access to safe and clean drinking water for students and staff, supporting a healthy campus environment and responding to the day-to-day needs of the academic community. Beyond its health-related objective, the water refilling station reflects a collaborative approach to resource provision, where parents and educators share responsibility in addressing practical concerns that affect student life.

By marking the launch of the facility with a formal ceremony, the college brought to the fore the tangible outcomes of stakeholder engagement and recognized the essential role of the PTA in shaping student-centered initiatives. The activity also aligned with CST’s broader institutional direction toward inclusive governance and responsive campus infrastructure development.
