In pursuit of expanding academic opportunities and fostering global partnerships, Guimaras State University (GSU) engaged in an exploratory meeting with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia, to discuss potential collaboration on a Student Exchange Program and Doctoral Degree Scholarship initiative.
The meeting, held via Zoom, was attended by GSU President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, College of Science and Technology (CST) Dean Prof. Adrian J. Forca and its Program Heads, Head of Human Resources Ma. Rechel Pillora, along with distinguished faculty members from ITS.
The discussion focused on the ITS Scholarship Program and its requirements, mainly for Master Program alumni aiming to pursue advanced studies. A proposed hybrid study arrangement was highlighted, primarily conducted online, but with an obligation to come to ITS once per semester.
Both institutions expressed optimism about the benefits of such collaboration, noting that the partnership would open doors to international exposure, research collaboration, and advanced academic training for GSU’s academic community.
This initiative marks another step in GSU’s commitment to global engagement, continuous faculty development, and enriching the academic experience of its students through international cooperation.
