The Guimaras State University (GSU) convened a meeting with land transportation sectors on October 7, 2025, at the GSU Mosqueda Campus Multimedia Center to tackle the transportation challenges faced by students who have classes extending beyond 5:00 p.m.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders including representatives from the Land Transportation sectors of Guimaras, University President, Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Erly M. Martir, Campus Director, Dr. Kert D. Pillora, CST Dean Adrian J. Forca, PTA Officers, representatives from different municipalities, and Board Members of the Province of Guimaras.

The gathering aimed to find concrete solutions to the transportation difficulties experienced by students, particularly those who are residing at the Buenavista who struggle to find rides when evening classes end. The discussion focused on strengthening coordination between the university and transport operators to ensure that students can travel home safely and conveniently after class hours.

Through open dialogue and collaboration, participants expressed their commitment to addressing the issue by improving transportation schedules, ensuring vehicle availability, and coordinating with local government units and the university for sustained support.

The initiative reflects GSU’s dedication to student welfare and safety, emphasizing the importance of partnership between educational institutions and community sectors in resolving practical challenges that affect learning continuity.
