October 22, 2025 | GSU X ITS via Zoom

The College of Science and Technology conducted an online meeting with a representative from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) on October 22, 2025, via Zoom. The discussion was attended by the CST Dean, Prof. Adrian J. Forca, together with a faculty member from the partner institution, focusing on strengthening academic partnerships and collaborative research opportunities between the two universities.
The meeting primarily centered on scholarship opportunities for Doctoral Degree Programs, potential activities for future student exchange programs, and research collaborations in various fields. The representative from ITS presented several proposed research areas such as batik, palm oil, writings, and carvings, based on the current studies of their doctoral students. Both institutions also expressed a shared interest in developing research initiatives focused on mangoes, recognizing Guimaras which is known as the world’s sweetest mangoes. Prof. Adrian J. Forca also invited them to visit Guimaras preferably in the months of April and May to witness the Manggahan Festival.
Another key point discussed was the issuance of certificates for student exchange participants, recognizing them as regular students enrolled in regular classes and subjects, possibly including Data Structures and Object-Oriented Programming, since both institutions offer these courses.
The ITS representative also extended an invitation to the CST Dean to serve as a guest keynote speaker in one of their upcoming academic engagements. Both parties agreed to continue their cooperation through the review and strengthening of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and to hold regular meetings and consultations to further enhance research collaboration and academic exchange opportunities.
This partnership continues to exemplify CST’s commitment to global academic engagement and collaborative research efforts.
