GSU Sports Fest 2025 Opens with Colorful Parade at Salvador Campus

The GSU Sports Fest 2025 officially opened with a vibrant and energetic parade featuring various colleges and university offices on December 10, 2025, at the GSU Salvador Campus. The opening day marked the start of a three-day celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and school spirit.

The event kicked off with a grand parade showcasing the different colleges and offices, each proudly displaying their departmental colors and banners. The lively procession set an enthusiastic tone for the Sports Fest as participants filled the campus with cheers and excitement.

Messages of support and encouragement were delivered by University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño and Buenavista Mayor, Hon. Samuel T. Gumarin, both expressing their full support for the Sports Fest and highlighting the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie among students.

A banner-raising ceremony and competition followed, led by the raising of the GSU banner by Dr. Parreño together with Dr. Erly M. Martir, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). During the banner-raising of the participating colleges, the College of Science and Technology (CST) banner was notably raised first, drawing cheers from CST Students.

The excitement continued as the sports events officially began at 1:00 PM, signaling the start of competitive games across various disciplines. CST students, in particular, showed great enthusiasm and anticipation as they looked forward to an action-packed and memorable three-day Sports Fest.

GSU Sports Fest 2025 promises to be a dynamic celebration of athletic excellence, school pride, and unity among the GSU community.
