February 19, 2026 | DENR Office, Guimaras

The College of Science and Technology sustained its On-the-Job Training (OJT) deployment as five Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students were officially assigned to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Guimaras on February 19, 2026.

The students were warmly welcomed by the DENR personnel, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere for their immersion in government service. The deployment was facilitated and supervised by the BSIT Program Head, Prof. Divon G. Tamdang, who accompanied the students to ensure a smooth turnover and coordination with the host agency.

Prior to the start of their actual training, the student-trainees attended a short orientation where they were briefed on the office rules, policies, and workplace expectations. This initial activity aimed to prepare them for a professional environment and to ensure that they would be guided accordingly throughout their training period. After the orientation, the trainees were escorted to their respective office assignments where they would render their practicum.
The continued partnership between CST and DENR provides valuable opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience, enhance their technical skills, and develop professionalism in a real work setting. Through this OJT program, the university strengthens its commitment to producing competent, industry-ready graduates equipped with practical knowledge and a strong sense of responsibility.
