CST Dean Takes Oath as DOST–NRCP Associate Member

The Dean of the College of Science and Technology (CST) of Guimaras State University, Prof. Adrian J. Forca, officially took his oath as an Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on March 13, 2026.

The oathtaking took place during the 2026 Annual Scientific Conference and the 93rd General Membership Assembly, held at the Philippine International Convention Center, where new members of the organization were formally inducted along with other researchers and scholars from across the country.

Joining him from GSU was Ms. Jessierey Heart C. Gabo, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Food Technology of the College of Agricultural Sciences, who also took part in the assembly together with fellow members of the organization.

The event gathered researchers, scientists, and academic leaders nationwide to discuss pressing research issues and promote collaborative scientific initiatives. With the theme “Transdisciplinary Capacity Building and Ethical Research Towards a Progressive, Unified, and SDG-Driven Nation,” the conference emphasized the importance of strengthening research capabilities while upholding ethical standards in scholarly work.

The discussions highlighted the need for the integration of diverse knowledge systems, including academic, indigenous, technological, and policy-driven perspectives to effectively address complex societal challenges. Moreover, the conference underscored the importance of integrity, equity, and social responsibility in advancing research that contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the realization of a progressive and sustainable future.

The participation and induction of GSU representatives in the NRCP signify the university’s continuing commitment to research excellence, innovation, and national development, strengthening its role in contributing to meaningful scientific and academic advancement in the Philippines.
