CST Joins National Gathering of IT Educators at 2026 PSITE National Convention

Faculty members from the College of Science and Technology (CST) of Guimaras State University actively participated in the 2026 Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) National Convention, held on March 26–28, 2026 at the The Marison Hotel, Legazpi City in partnership with PSITE Bicol and host institutions.

Representing CST in the three-day convention were Prof. Adrian J. Forca (CST Dean), Instr. Kristine G. Rosero (BLIS Program Head), Instr. James Ryan B. Ga (BSEMC Program Head), Instr. Loveson C. Gallos (BSIS Program Head), and Dr. Simeon J. Cainday III.

With the theme “PSITE 2.0: Augmenting Education, Connecting Community, and Thriving with AI,” the convention gathered IT educators, administrators, and industry leaders from across the country to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in education, research, and community engagement.

The event featured a series of meaningful sessions and engagements that allowed participants to:

– Explore how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing IT education and learn strategies to bridge the skills gap for an AI-driven workforce
– Engage with peers and thought leaders, sharing insights, best practices, and innovative strategies in shaping the future of IT education
– Participate in discussions and workshops offering actionable tools, methodologies, and resources to enhance teaching and leadership
– Discover regional innovations in IT, highlighting how different areas across the country are advancing technology-driven initiatives, and
– Join collaborative initiatives that promote leadership and innovation, equipping educators to inspire the next generation of IT professionals

The participation of CST aimed to enhance their competencies in teaching, research, and extension services, as well as to align academic programs with current industry trends and technological advancements. The convention also served as an avenue for collaboration and continuous professional development among IT educators nationwide.

By taking part in the PSITE National Convention, CST reinforces its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and producing globally competitive graduates equipped with relevant and future-ready skills in the field of information technology.
