The College of Science and Technology (CST) of Guimaras State University successfully conducted its 4th OJT Pinning Ceremony for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) students on May 17, 2026, at Juliana’s Hall, Pitstop Hotel.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the BSCS students as they were officially pinned before embarking on their On-the-Job Training (OJT) journey. The event celebrated the students’ transition from classroom learning to real-world professional experience, symbolizing their readiness to apply their knowledge and skills in actual work environments.

Serving as the Inspirational Speaker was Ma. Rechel A. Pillora, Head of HRMO and Administrative Officer V of Guimaras State University. In her message, she emphasized the importance of professionalism, values, and continuous growth as students prepare to enter the workplace.

According to Ma’am Pillora, “A professional mindset means embracing excellence even when no one is watching. It means being willing to learn continuously, to improve despite failures, and to remain committed to quality service and meaningful contribution.” She further reminded the students that while skills may open opportunities, attitude and values determine how far a person can go in their career.

The event was witnessed by the proud parents of the students, together with Dr. Kert D. Pillora, Mosqueda Campus Director, the CST faculty and staff, program heads, and Prof. Adrian J. Forca, CST Dean.
Carrying the theme “Beyond the Script: Cultivating a Professional Mindset to Feature Innovative Solutions for Global Standards,” the ceremony highlighted the importance of developing not only technical competence but also professionalism, adaptability, and innovation in preparing students for the demands of the global workforce.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the imposition of pins, where students were formally recognized as future interns ready to represent the university in their respective training institutions. The proud smiles and emotional support from parents and guardians made the ceremony even more meaningful, reflecting the shared joy and achievement of both students and their families.

BSCS students also had the chance to show their appreciation, gratitude and love to their parents through a heartfelt intermission number.

This event highlights the college’s continued commitment to producing competent, disciplined, and globally competitive professionals prepared to face real-world challenges with excellence and integrity.
