CST Highlights Vietnamese Culture at GSU Mr. and Ms. ASEAN 2026

The College of Science and Technology (CST) took part in the Mr. and Ms. ASEAN 2026 celebration as part of the university’s ASEAN Week activities on August 27, 2026 at the University Gymnasium, GSU Salvador Campus.

Representing CST were Instr. Marnie Lester Jornadal and Instr. Jerlyn Decena, who proudly represented Vietnam in the competition.

They joined representatives from various colleges, and administrative offices of Guimaras State University in showcasing the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the ASEAN region.

As part of the competition, the representatives presented their respective ASEAN national costumes, highlighting the distinctive cultural identity and traditions of their assigned country. They also delivered their advocacy statements, giving them an opportunity to share causes and messages aligned with the values and aspirations of the ASEAN community.

The participation of CST in the Mr. and Ms. ASEAN 2026 celebration reflected the college’s support for cultural appreciation, diversity, unity, and international awareness. Through the event, the GSU community was given an opportunity to celebrate the unique identities of ASEAN member states while recognizing the importance of cooperation and understanding among nations.

The activity formed part of the university’s celebration of ASEAN Week 2026, carrying the theme “Navigating Our Future Together,” emphasizing the spirit of unity and shared aspirations toward a stronger and more connected ASEAN community.
