In a continuous effort to foster emergency preparedness and disaster resilience, Guimaras State University (GSU) Mosqueda Campus actively participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 20, 2026.
The execution of the quarterly NSED underscores the university’s steadfast commitment to promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience among its students, faculty, and administrative personnel. Through regular disaster preparedness activities, GSU ensures that the entire campus community remains ready and capable of responding appropriately to emergency situations, contributing directly to the protection of lives and the preservation of public safety.
During the alarm phase, participants executed the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” protocol before systematically evacuating designated buildings and assembling at designated safe zones. Safety marshals and emergency response teams monitored the flow of evacuation to ensure order and efficiency throughout the exercise.
Following the simulated response, safety evaluators gathered to share their valuable feedback. The evaluation team commended the campus community for its swift evacuation time, disciplined execution of safety maneuvers, and organized coordination. Evaluators also provided constructive recommendations to further streamline evacuation routes, improve communication protocols, and address potential bottlenecks in future drill scenarios.
The successful completion of the drill reaffirms GSU Mosqueda Campus’s proactive stance on campus security, ensuring that safety protocols remain sharp, up to date, and effective.
